To broaden our support for new packages and advances in TeX engines, we've now added two new build options to writeLaTeX - on top of the pdfLaTeX and XeLaTeX options you can also now choose LuaLaTeX or simply plain LaTeX + dvipdf.

One of our major goals for writeLaTeX has always been to help LaTeX geeks (like us) collaborate with non-LaTeX geeks (like most of the people we work with). It's why we have a real time preview and a rich text editor for LaTeX, and it's why we've just started a new open source project called JotGit: JotGit brings together git, for powerful version control and offline working, with online, collaborative rich text editing. Publishing with MDPI has just become easier for LaTeX authors - you can now submit directly from writeLaTeX to any MDPI open access journal.

Through a recent collaboration with The Optical Society (OSA), we're pleased to bring you an updated set of LaTeX templates and style guides for the OSA's family of Express journals.

bioRxiv is a non-profit online archive and distribution service for pre-prints in the life sciences. Since their launch last year we've had numerous requests for a quick submission link between writeLaTeX and bioRxiv, and we're pleased to announce that this has now arrived!
